Healthy, normal hair is naturally uncomplicated and beautiful. Normal hair can be straight or slightly wavy, you can have a little or a lot of hair, your scalp is healthy and it is usually easy to maintain. Our hair reflects our character. Did you know that our very personal hair colour and skin colour are individually formed by the melanins (pigments) in our skin and hair? Melanins are pigments whose composition is genetically determined. The personal mixture that makes up your skin colour perfectly matches the mixture of your hair colour. This looks harmonious, authentic, friendly and beautiful.
When your scalp and hair are healthy, your hair shines and makes your personality shine.
Care tips for normal hair:
- Clean your hair as gently as possible. The less hair soap or shampoo you use, the less you degrease your scalp and hair and the better the scalp's acid mantle and pH remain in balance.
- Avoid hair care products that contain silicones or paraffins (mineral oils such as thin petrolatum). Silicones and paraffins form a water-insoluble film on the hair that does not come off even when washed with soap. The more often you apply silicones or paraffins to your hair, the heavier your hair becomes. The hair feels soft because the chemicals penetrate the open hair structure, settle there and completely coat the hair. It is like pouring plastic over a tree trunk to make it feel smooth. The tree can't breathe, grow and thrive, and neither can your hair.
- We recommend silicone-free shampoos with mild surfactants or a hair soap (free of palm oil). Dilute the shampoo or hair soap with water in a small bottle until a foamy solution is formed that can be applied directly to the scalp. This has the advantage that the hairline is cleaned directly and the amount of shampoo or hair soap that runs over the hair when rinsed with water is sufficient to clean the hair. In particular, the ends and other dry parts of the hair are not additionally dried out.
- Comb through wet or dry hair with a wide comb. Wet hair is more sensitive, the hair structure more open and the hair more fragile. A wide-toothed wooden comb is the gentlest way to comb the hair. Combing wet hair is gentler than brushing wet hair, because a hairbrush has a larger surface area than a comb and also loosens hairs from the roots that do not actually want to go. You can find more information on this in our blog post: Combing or brushing hair
Our recommendation for the ideal wooden comb is our styling comb 1A. Use the wide teeth to comb wet hair gently and carefully, and the coarse teeth to style your hair.
- The ideal care for your hair is your own hair oil, which you produce individually on your scalp. With a natural hair brush, it is easy to distribute the valuable hair grease from the scalp into the bristles of the brush first, so that the hair grease can then be released back into the dry areas of the hair. We recommend the small oval hairbrush with natural hair and the large oval long hairbrush, which has more conditioning power due to its larger surface compared to the small oval brush. Brushing the hair from the forehead to the nape of the neck is particularly beneficial in the evening before going to bed, because it cleanses the hair and relaxes it. After brushing, it is advisable to comb the hair with a coarse-toothed comb to make it airy and loose again.
- Hair care with fatty oils. Coconut oil with sun protection factor 4 covers the hair like a protective film and protects it especially in summer. European alternatives are apricot kernel oil and olive oil.
Did you know that we have up to 150,000 hairs on our head, that is about 200 hairs per cm2? Of these 150,000 hairs, we lose up to 100 hairs a day, because our hair roots have a lifespan of 6-8 years. The hair root is located in the skin and is supplied with nutrients via blood vessels. Residues of medicines that are excreted through the skin can also be detected in the hair. The hair root is connected to our nervous system, and the hair erector muscle, which raises the hairs on the back of our neck and gives us goose bumps, has a direct connection to our unconscious nervous system.
Today we know that the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems - the conscious and unconscious nervous systems - is very important for our health. When we are relaxed, our skin and hair regenerate automatically.
The relaxed and cleansing brushing of the hair with the natural hairbrush relaxes us just as much as combing with one of our hair combs.
The conscious use of one of our energy combs has the advantage that your energy system relaxes and comes into balance even faster. Oak wood grounds, walnut wood supports our perception, Swiss stone pine wood gives lightness and flexibility and amaranth wood gives energy and motivation. You can find more information about our energy combs in the following blog post: Energy combs
