Curly hair
For decades I have been observing our clients with curly hair. People with naturally curly hair radiate an authentic happiness, a special, flexible activity: physically, emotionally and mentally.
People with curly hair are often very creative, love music, enjoy and celebrate life, can change perspectives flexibly and usually see the beauty in life. In direct conversation with people who have curly hair, I experience again and again that they feel the difference whether their hair is very curly or combed straight. Most of the time they only comb the dry hair and then leave the curls that have formed alone. It feels relaxing to let the curls be curls. The longer the hair, the more likely people with long, curly hair are to braid it. Tying curly hair into a braid is a completely different feeling, especially when the hair has been combed out and almost slicked back. You look stricter, clearer and more concentrated. At work or in everyday life, there may be situations in which you like to wear your hair like this, in order to undo the braid in the evening and let the curls run free again.
In the uncombed hair and especially in the spaces between the curls, energies are absorbed that we cannot see but can feel. If we find these energies unpleasant and want to get rid of them, we comb our hair with a wide-toothed curling comb and shake out the comb like a towel to release the energies. Immediately the whole energy system of the body feels more relaxed and balanced.
When we walk through the forest, we often find pine cones on the ground. The cuticle of our hair has a similar structure. Smooth, healthy hair has a thick cuticle. It feels soft and smooth. Since curly hair twists into curls, which automatically creates tension in the hair and cuticle layer, the scales are naturally not as tight as in straight hair. That's why curly hair is happy about an extra portion of care. Coconut oil, almond oil or argan oil, applied sparingly, are valuable helpers here.
Alternatively, you can care for your curly hair with your own hair grease. Your own hair grease has the advantage that it has exactly the composition of fat, protein and moisture that is optimal for your hair. Brushing with a natural hairbrush is very polarising for people with curly hair. A hairbrush with boar bristles is the only brush (or a fine-toothed, untreated wooden comb) that absorbs the nourishing oil from the scalp and releases it to all dry parts of the hair. All the way to the ends of the hair. There is no better conditioner than your own hair oil.
Brushing is polarising because the boar bristle brush distributes the hair very finely and straightens the curls. This feels unusual at first. If you don't want to go through this new experience, I recommend a slightly greasy oil (coconut oil is heavy) like argan oil or apricot kernel oil to care for the curly hair.
You can also add a little essential oil to these oils. Essential oils of coniferous trees or shrubs often have a relaxing effect on curly hair. Examples of essential oils are: Cade(in my experience it promotes hair growth), Swiss Pine, Silver Fir, Pine, Cypress and many more.
Our hair has a special relationship with coniferous trees. A tree is rooted in the earth like our hair is rooted in the skin. They grow out of the skin like they grow out of the forest floor and have the function of antennas that can transmit and receive. Maybe that is why especially essential oils from coniferous trees or a hair comb made of Swiss stone pine relax the entire scalp. In summer, probably more nourishing oil and in winter more moisture. If you have curly hair, you can be more creative with your hairstyle.
Choose a curling comb with extra-wide teeth to obtain beautiful curls. Comb through dry hair and loosen with your hands. If you want less curl, after the extra-wide teeth, simply use a wooden comb with wide teeth or, if you have thin curly hair, a hair comb with coarse teeth. The finer the teeth you choose, the more curls you will comb out. From wildly curly to neat and straight - you have many options for styling your hair. Did you know that women used to stop wearing their long hair down once they were married? If you take the time to feel how open hair feels in communication with the environment and how it feels to wear your hair closed, you can understand why it was like that back then.
